A Green Oasis through a Living Wall for the European Medicines Agency
On the Zuidas in Amsterdam, we realized a remarkable project for the European Medicines Agency: an impressive living plant wall of 1,255 m². Together with Koninklijke Ginkel Groep and Mastop, we created a sustainable green oasis in the heart of the city.
Green Technology and Sustainability
This vertical garden is more than just a beautiful feature. With 59,020 plants arranged in an elegant wave pattern, the wall actively contributes to the indoor climate. The building is cooled and heated in a natural way, humidity levels are optimized, and the plants’ natural processes help save energy.
The project was awarded a BREEAM Excellent rating and received the title EILO Best Project 2021 (Vertical Green). This demonstrates that sustainability, innovation, and aesthetics can go hand in hand.

The living wall is a showcase of green, circular, and future-proof construction. It combines functionality with natural beauty while also providing a pleasant and healthy working environment for everyone in the building.
